Back to the Ranch Chunkking Shoots His Mouth Off Here:
There is a great quote to remember as you wander through this site:

"Opinions are like assholes - everybody has one"

First off, I'd like to add "chunkking's corollary":

"Just because you have one doesn't mean you need to be one!"

This will be the place for me to spout my opinions about things. I may have quotes. There may be rhetorical questions. I may even ask you to mail me your opinion.

May 26, 1998: The Response Book is up.
Thank you khitch for your invaluable help.

Back to the Ranch

Dec 14 - Are people more violently opposed to fur rather than leather because it's much easier to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs?
Dec 7 - "American by birth. Southern by the Grace of God!"
Dec 2 - Something from the book I'm currently reading:
"Are you on the bus....or off the bus?"
and
No Left Turns Unstoned
Good God...I may have to start using hallucinogens again.....
Nov 2 - Sometimes I like "shaking up" the Rich and Powerful..if only to show them that deep down, we're all cut from the same cloth.

Mine just happens to be tie-dyed.

Oct 26 - Heh, I was asked what I was bitchin' about today. My reply:
" I'm not bitchin' about anything. I'm just bitchin' to stay in shape."
Can't let 'em know how happy I am.
Oct 7 - hey! "perception is everything". Can you dig it?
Oct 2 - Have been reading the "Foundation" series by Isaac Asimov:
Janov Pelorat: "It seems to me, Trevize, that the advance of civilization is nothing but a exercise in the limiting of privacy"
Asimov's "Foundation's Edge".

Now this was published in 1982....before the Internet and real popularity of computers.

I'll say it again: I think Bill Gates' "The Road Ahead" was the scariest book I ever read.

Sep 28 - (I was watching clouds today)

I'm sorta glad I was a recreational drug user. It allowed me to appreciate the wonder and beauty of nature. And because I survived, I proved myself a viable member of the herd.

Sep 25 - Okay..I've started a list of Points to Ponder. This is the kind of stuff that inspired this Opinion page.
Sep 18 - It's Science and Technology day here at the Ranch! Go check out my recent studies on "The Twinkie as a Food Source".
Sep 15 - Why, oh why, would anybody want to buy hard jeans?
Sep 9 - Finally! I saw something that made me laugh on the road today: A great Bumper Sticker -
He's dead, Jim. You grab his tricorder and I'll get his wallet.

Sep 2 - "The Dude abides.." heh..I really like "The Big Lebowski"
Aug 31 - It's Science and Technology day here at the Ranch! Go check out my recent studies on "The Secrets of Antigravity".
Aug 29 - President Clinton will always be remembered as "The President after Bush".

Aug 24 - Lucky for everybody I decided to get that pesky Attorney vs. Laywer page put up. Now you can go read for yourself...and decide if you understand. Or, does it even really matter?

Aug 22 - "They" say that everyone has at least one good book in them.....

With my luck...it's a technical manual.

Aug 7 - Here's one from Dennis Miller, the guy who single-handedly made ranting fashionable:

".. and in this society, we are like sailboats and money is the wind. And with enough money, you can get blown just about anywhere!"

I thought it appropriate considering the Lewinsky testimony lately.

Aug 6 - "You know you've spent too much time in chat rooms when: Rather than break up with your girlfriend, you just /status g.f. set +x"

Doing laundry can be soooo inspiring!

Aug 4 -

"I'm gonna kill'em all..*that* should distract them plenty"

Yup! you guessed it..two nights in a row of Buffy the Vampire Slayer....Oh Dear God..give me strength!

No, you're not seeing things..I got rid of the graymarble stuff to see how it reads.

Aug 3 -

"Sure! We saved the world...I say 'Let's Party'"

From tonight's re-run of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Good God! I'm starting to like this show!

July 23 - Subject: Industry News - The Release of Windows Double-Aught!

I had to include this in my littany agin old Bill Gates and his plan to dominate the planet. I wonder how much of this is true?

July 22 - Subject: Industry News - Gates steps down as President of Microsoft

Steps down as president so he can focus on more ways to strengthen his strangle-hold on the world's informations systems. "Virtual PC"..constantly connected, blah, blah....so somebody at Microsoft will have the abilty to glance at your information whenever they dang well feel the urge.

Big brother is coming...and he used to be a computer geek. Which should really come as no surprise.

July 20, 1998 - Here are 33 steps to Personal Growth. I plan to begin, real soon.
July 12, 1998- oh shit..the copy paste thing..just a second..okay, here it is:
"God made pot. Man made beer. Whom do you trust?" -The Irish Times, Washington D.C.
June 27, 1998 - I also added the New Serenity Prayer to the site.
June 26-27, 1998 - I can truthfully say that Corona does not taste much like Pacifico Clara, at all. I was going to say that Corona tastes like watered down dog pee, but that would be slander.....And I don't know what watered down dog pee tastes like - nor do I want to find out.

Along the beer lines, I have added the Beer Prayer to my site. Some of you may have seen it already, some may not. Please enjoy.

June 19, 1998

I had a couple to share today:

You might be on the right track....but you'll still get run over if you just sit there.
Thank you Will Rogers.

And from a discussion over multiple beers...

Try not to let anyone "grin-fuck" you. If you don't know what that is....don't worry - you'll understand when it happens to you.

June 14, 1998

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive, anyway.

June 8, 1998

This is an image of what, IMHO is the coolest birthday card I ever got. I have kept it for a very long time. It was given to me by a family friend whom, at one time, was my World History Teacher.

June 7, 1998

Never, and I mean never mess with the settings on the toaster once you have it set the way you like it. If you have to change the setting to cook something else....go buy a new toaster.

May 29, 1998

I spend all day at work thinking deep thoughts about Web page content.. and then I come home and can't recall a darn thing.....

May 26, 1998

Anonymity for protection and profit.
Whatever happened to anonymity for fun and games?

May 20, 1998

Having just returned from a 1000 mile road trip, I remembered an old standard:
The Three Worst Types of Drivers I Have Seen on the Road.

May 12, 1998

It was an advertisement for Walden's Bookstores, and I think it may have been attributed to Mark Twain ahem...Groucho Marx:

"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read!"

Well, I like it anyway

Jamie said:

The Development System must be faster than the business...or the problem will never go away.

According to Chunkking:

Shouldn't it say "Learn from our solutions" rather than "Learn from our mistakes"?

Q.E.D. Parity = Entropy

May 2, 1998: Militant Pro-Lifer - Oxymoron?....or just a moron?

I mean really, come on! I suppose this brands me as a pro-choice (yes, I am) but my point is: what the hell good does it do to go around blowing up clinics and people? And I don't think the Fifth amendment covers that sort of behavior either. But this is my opinion.

May 1, 1998: "Good Gawd..I sure do like women." chunkking

A bit of Po'try

There's a swamp in the back of my head
It's where all my ideas go.....
And there are muddy footprints on my brain
