This way back to the Ranch   I found this "review" of a recliner in Maxim Magazine

The "Best Chairs" model 9WPM-67. Price=$800

And I quote from the Maxim article:
Lowdown:With arm cushions the size of lambs and a backrest that feels like an enormous tongue, this absurdly monstrous chair is a full-on comfort attack.
Features: Vibrating massage with pulsing feature, speakerphone and earphone jack, cup holder.
Feels like: A '94 Cadillac DeVille. Hit a deer and you won't feel a thing.
The 12-hour sit-in: Our tester spent hours one to four watching Dirty Harry flicks, grinning, and playing with the vibrating massage and cup holder (one setting for a martini, another for a 12-ounce bottle). The massage didn't get him off ("think of vibrators sewn into the upholstery," he said), but the cup holder did. By hour six he conceded, "I'm totally loaded." Hour seven: He crank calls a nearby Chinese food joint, concluding, "The speakerphone's sound quality sucks as bad as my Chinese." He crashed and slept through hour 15.
The Sex Test: The ultra-soft chair made coupling semm like wrestling in a vat of pudding. But it was wide enough for our fearless guinea pigs to make it to page 31 of kenneth Ray Stubbs' Secret Sexual Positions.
Design flaw: "The wiring seems as if it's been rigged by 10-year-olds in Guyana," our tester said. "Spill a beer and it's all over."
Women's Disgust Rating: Medium. "It basically comes down to me or the chair. He could never have both."

chunkking's blabbering: I've had this article laying around for over a year now. Thought I'd put the important information somewhere I could find it..and throw the paper away. But I really do like this chair, at least from what I've read. I could probably fix the wiring. Certainly wouldn't want it to burst into flames whilst relaxing in it. The range of prices on the four chairs Maxim reviewed ran from $499 to $2995, so this one is relative low priced yet extremely comfortable. I also like how the back rest has only two panels rather than three. From my experience, the three-panel versions tend to sag about mid-back, which makes it start to feel like the top of the chair is pushing your head forward. That's also why I prefer couches with low backs. This two-panel design seems like it would avoid that problem. Okay, I admit it, I want a recliner I can doze off in occasionally. Now I just need to find someone that sells "Best Chairs".
