Sept 28 - Getting things caught up. I don't know what I'll call it. "Sunday Mornings with chunkking", maybe.
In my new job, so far, I literally spend 8 hours a day in front of a computer, and actually occupied doing things.
So I don't have the time to goof off as I did at other jobs. Not to mention my day to day supervisor sits at the desk right next
to me. And I just don't feel like sitting in front of the damn machine when I get home at night. And, it's the new TV season.
So I don't know how much, or how often, I'll contribute to this area. I guess I need to start thinking of things again.
Hell, we're already up to Hurrican Kyle, and I haven't even bothered with that list this year.
Don't see it as depression - see it as lack of creativity and motivation.
Sept 26 - End of week two on the new job. Even managed to stay awake the whole time. Rather than going in at OH-Dark-fifteen,
I've taken to sleeping in a couple extra hours, fighting rush hour traffic, and working "normal" hours. The work has gotten
a little more interesting and I've caught a few mistakes my co-workers have made. Looking forward to my paycheck next Friday.
Sep 17 - it's a low day for me. Third day on the new job and I've been written up for dozing off at my computer. Not a
good thing to do when your supervisor sits at the desk right next to you. I'm actually considering resigning from this job
because it's pretty damn boring so far. And I've discovered I like jobs where I have to get up and work a little, too. Funny
thing for a guy who is now 70 pounds overweight.
Sept 8 - My interview yesterday went well, I guess. The fancy video over IP didn't quite work, but that's okay. And then, late
this evening (it's Friday around 8p.m. ) I finally take a look at my e-mail. My interview yesterday was at 8:30 am....they had offered
me the job by 2:30pm that same day via e-mail. I never noticed until now. Fired off an e-mail acceptance with plans to call on Monday.
Sept 5 - Sure enough, as my Dad and I are headed out on some errand, my phone rings. Can I come in for an interview on Thursday?
Sure! Cut short my stay with the foks, but they understood.
Sept 1 - Sent in my resume on that interesting job - wasn't too sure of my chances, but what the heck. I'd found out
about the job a week ago. It took me this long to gather all the information this company was looking for. And a short time
to figure out their website. Posting forms they want you to fill out...and they're in PDF format! Without all the little edittable
blanks. Well, I got it all together and mailed in to them. Decided to take use the long weekend to yard-ninja my place and then
head on to visit my parents the following week. Heck, I was unemployed again, right? In the past few months I'd been hanging
around Raleigh waiting to hear back on interviews and only being disappointed. So why hang around?.
